Smaller Practices Group (SPG)

R3 members within smaller practices make up a significant and vital part of R3 membership. R3’s Smaller Practices Group Committee (SPG) is a dedicated group within R3 to support the needs of smaller practice members in all areas of their work.

The SPG Committee consists of smaller practice IPs, solicitors and compliance experts, and is headed up internally by Emma Lovell (R3 Director), who is the dedicated R3 resource to address the requirements of smaller practices.

The Committee has spent time listening to, and engaging with, members in order to understand the issues facing smaller practitioners. We know how important it is to address key areas where the needs of smaller practitioners often differ from those of medium or large sized practices in their ability to offer and provide resources and support in areas such as compliance, education and training.

As your dedicated Committee, we will continue to ensure that the voice and interests of smaller practitioners are taken into account, both within R3 and with external stakeholders.

Smaller practices are well represented on R3’s Council, other R3 Committees and the Policy Group, where specific SPG input is provided on technical matters, policy development, responses to Government consultations, and education and training needs, to name but a few. Smaller firms are also specifically represented on the IVA Standing Committee so that the SPG view is heard on IVA issues.
