Stephen Leinster

Stephen has worked at EY since November 2010 as the Risk Director for the Firm’s UK & Ireland Restructuring Group leading the team which provides support to the Group, including technical guidance, internal compliance, knowledge sharing and quality and risk management.
Prior to joining EY, Stephen spent more than 25 years at The Insolvency Service, undertaking a wide range of roles across The Service, spending the last five and a half years as Director of Policy. During his time in The Service’s Policy Unit Stephen was responsible for helping Ministers deliver many of the recent changes to the insolvency regime, including:
the corporate insolvency provisions of the Enterprise Act;
the “reversal” of the House of Lords decision in Leyland Daf; and
the “Modernisation” changes introduced in April 2009 and 2010.
Stephen is a Member of the:
Insolvency Practitioners Association and is a member and Vice Chair of the IPA’s
        Investigation  Committee;
A member of R3’s Policy Group
Stephen was awarded a Master of Laws in insolvency law with Distinction in
        December 2012 by Nottingham Trent University.
